Bubble.io Developer Team for MVPs, SaaS and Marketplace Apps

Bring us the product idea. Our Bubble.io developer team turns it into a working app with a clean database, properly configured privacy rules and workflows that hold up when real users arrive, then helps you plan what comes next.

What does a Bubble.io developer do?

A Bubble.io developer builds web apps, and now native mobile apps, on Bubble, a visual platform with its own database, logic engine, user authentication and hosting. Founders use it to launch MVPs, SaaS products, marketplaces and internal tools in weeks rather than months, then improve them quickly based on how real users behave.

Bubble app development services

Bubble MVP development

We help you cut the feature list down to the one workflow that proves your idea, then build it properly: sign-up, onboarding, the core action, payments and an admin view. You get an app people can pay for, not a clickable mock-up.

SaaS and marketplace apps

Subscription products with Stripe billing and team accounts, and two-sided marketplaces with listings, search, messaging, reviews and payouts. We design for multiple customer accounts from the start, so one company's data never appears in another's.

Database design and privacy rules

Your data model decides whether the app stays fast and affordable at 10,000 users. We plan data types, option sets and relationships before building, then write privacy rules so each user only reaches the records they should. Bubble enforces those rules on its servers, and loose rules are the most common security gap we look for.

Workflows and backend logic

Front-end workflows handle what users click. Backend workflows and scheduled jobs do the heavy lifting, like reminders, imports, data syncs and overnight recalculations, without slowing anyone's screen.

API Connector and integrations

Stripe, OpenAI, Google Maps, Twilio, SendGrid, HubSpot, Airtable or your own backend: if it has a REST API, we connect it through Bubble's API Connector with keys kept private on the server. Planning AI features? See our AI integration services.

Plugins and custom JavaScript

We use marketplace plugins when they're actively maintained and write our own in JavaScript when they aren't. Your core features shouldn't depend on a plugin whose author stopped updating it.

Responsive web and native mobile

Every page uses Bubble's responsive engine and is tested at desktop, tablet and phone widths. For app-store distribution, Bubble's native mobile editor builds iOS and Android apps on the same database. Need fully custom native apps instead? See mobile app development.

Performance and workload-unit optimization

Bubble meters server work in workload units (WU). We use its usage logs to find the expensive parts, such as searches that pull whole tables, heavy client-side filtering and repeated page-load queries, then restructure them. Faster pages and a smaller bill tend to arrive together.

Audits and rescues

Inherited a slow or fragile app? We review the data model, privacy rules, workflows and plugin list, then give you a prioritized fix plan, or an honest recommendation to rebuild if patching would cost more.

Is Bubble right for your product?

Bubble works well when:

  • You want to test an idea with paying users before hiring an engineering team.
  • The product is mostly forms, dashboards, listings, search, messaging and payments.
  • You need an internal tool or client portal on a known budget.
  • Speed of iteration matters more than owning every line of code.
  • The site's main job is ranking in search. Pair the app with a marketing site from our Webflow development team, and run Bubble on a subdomain.
  • You need heavy real-time features, offline mode or complex data processing from day one.
  • You must own and host your source code. Bubble apps can't be exported as code.

Look at other options when:

When to graduate from Bubble to custom code

Bubble can carry a product a long way. These signals mean custom code may now make more sense:

  • Plan and workload costs grow faster than revenue, even after optimization.
  • Enterprise customers or investors ask for source-code ownership or self-hosting.
  • Reporting or processing across very large datasets has become slow.
  • You're hiring engineers who would move faster in a standard stack.

When that happens, we plan the move in stages rather than one risky rewrite, often rebuilding the backend first while the Bubble front end keeps serving users. Full rebuilds run through our custom SaaS development service, with MVPs from $10,000, and portals or internal tools through web application development.

Why choose Wix Engine as your Bubble development agency

Product thinking before building

We'll question features that don't serve your first users. A smaller first release means faster learning and less wasted runway.

We know what comes after no-code

Our team also builds custom SaaS platforms, React apps and Next.js sites. We design Bubble apps with a realistic migration path, and we'll tell you honestly when Bubble stops being the cheaper option.

Screens designed, not improvised

Key flows are designed in Figma by our UI/UX design team before development starts, so the first version is easy to use rather than cleaned up later.

Before you pay for a build, our scoping step gives you user stories, a draft data structure and a fixed price per milestone, so you can judge our approach on your own app. Our published web work is on our projects page.

How much does Bubble app development cost?

Starts from
$1,500

No-code work at Wix Engine starts from $500, which fits smaller Bubble jobs such as a feature, an integration or a workload audit. A complete MVP is a larger project, starting from $1,500. For comparison, custom-coded SaaS MVPs with us start from $10,000.

What affects the price:

  • User roles one user type is simpler than buyers, sellers and admins.
  • Core workflows and screens each distinct flow adds build and testing time.
  • Payments simple subscriptions are quicker than marketplace payouts with Stripe Connect.
  • Native mobile a mobile app alongside the web app adds scope.
  • Data migration importing records from spreadsheets or another tool.

Bubble's plan and any extra workload usage are billed by Bubble, and we estimate both before you commit. We work on fixed-price milestones, a monthly retainer for ongoing product work, or hourly at $45/hour (minimum 40-hour block). Want a developer on your roadmap every week? FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to build an MVP on Bubble?

Small Bubble jobs with us start from $500, but a complete MVP starts from $1,500. The main cost drivers are user roles, the number of core workflows, payments and integrations. Bubble's own plan is billed separately. After a free call, we send an exact estimate within 48 hours.

How long does it take to build an app in Bubble?

A focused MVP usually takes weeks rather than months, because the database, logic and hosting are already part of the platform. Timing depends mostly on user roles, workflows and integrations. A typical Bubble MVP takes 3–6 weeks. Your proposal includes milestone dates so you can plan your launch.

Can Bubble apps scale?

Yes, further than many people expect, if the app is built well. Most scaling problems come from inefficient searches, bloated page loads and poorly planned data structures rather than the platform itself. We design for growth from the start, optimize workload usage, and tell you when custom code becomes the more economical route.

Can I export my Bubble app's code?

No. Bubble doesn't export app source code, and your app runs on Bubble's hosting. You can export your data, and Bubble's APIs let other systems read and write it. If code ownership matters to investors or enterprise clients, we'll discuss a migration path, or a custom build from the start, on the first call.

Is Bubble good for SEO?

Bubble supports page titles, meta descriptions, custom URLs and a sitemap, but it isn't built for content-heavy sites that depend on search traffic. We usually recommend a separate marketing site on Webflow or Framer at your main domain, with the Bubble app running on a subdomain such as app.yourdomain.com.

Can Bubble build native mobile apps?

Yes. Bubble's native mobile editor builds iOS and Android apps that can be published to the app stores and share a database with your web app. It suits MVPs and straightforward apps. Products that need deep device features or offline-first behavior are better served by custom React Native or Flutter development.

What are workload units in Bubble?

Workload units (WU) are how Bubble measures the server work your app does: database searches, workflow runs, API calls and data writes. Each plan includes a monthly allowance, and going over costs extra. Efficient data structures and workflows keep WU low, which is why we review usage before and after launch.
