Wix Studio 2 (Studio Two): What's Confirmed, What's Reported and How to Prepare

Sohaib Mehmood, Owner & CEO at Wix EngineSohaib MehmoodOwner & CEO · 9 min read

Wix Studio 2, which Wix is reportedly calling "Studio Two," is a new, AI-focused version of the Wix Studio editor that several Wix Partners say they've seen in preview. As of October 30, 2026, Wix hasn't officially announced it: there's no press release, help article, pricing or release date. According to Wix Partner Allioo Studio, Wix has scheduled a first look for November 10, 2026, and we'll update this post once Wix shares official details.

Everything below about features, timing and migration comes from partner and agency blogs, not from Wix. We don't have preview access or inside information. We've linked every source so you can read them yourself, and we've kept what's confirmed separate from what's reported. Details may change before release.

Key takeaways

  • Wix hasn't officially announced Wix Studio 2. The name, the November 10 first look and the feature list all come from Wix Partners who say they've seen previews.
  • Reported features include a new canvas with dark mode, easier container editing, simpler design systems, better Wix Apps and CMS handling, Plan Mode, Aria 2.0 and reusable "AI Skills." None of these are confirmed.
  • Reports disagree on whether existing Wix Studio sites will move across automatically. Nobody outside Wix knows yet.
  • Don't put a new site on hold. Build on today's Wix Studio with a clean design system, CMS collections and reusable sections, so any future move is quicker.

What Wix has officially confirmed about Wix Studio 2

Very little. We couldn't find a Wix press release, help center page, Wix Studio Academy article or official social post about Studio 2 as of October 30, 2026. Wix's second-quarter 2026 results, filed with the SEC, talk about Wix Harmony, Base44 and Wix's own AI models, but don't mention a new Studio editor.

What is official is the context around it:

  • Wix Studio today is Wix's editor for agencies and professional teams. It ships with three default breakpoints (desktop 1001px and up, tablet 751–1000px, mobile 320–750px), and you can add up to three more, according to Wix Studio Academy.
  • Wix Harmony is Wix's AI website builder, launched on January 21, 2026. It pairs natural-language prompts with visual editing and is driven by Wix's AI agent, Aria.

If you're choosing between today's editors, our Wix Studio vs Wix Editor comparison covers that in detail.

Earlier timing reports didn't hold up: one blog expected a rollout by late summer 2026, another said it was in its final stages heading into September. Treat every date as an estimate until Wix publishes one.

Reported Wix Studio 2 features

These come from Wix Partners who say they tested preview builds. Anthony Johnson of Allioo Studio notes the features "can change before release."

A new foundation and canvas, with dark mode

According to Allioo Studio, Studio Two is built on a new foundation aligned with industry standards and has an updated canvas with dark mode. LowCodeWebsite, a brand of Wix Legend Partner iView Labs, reports "a dark mode default," a cleaner layout and more direct editing on the canvas.

Easier container editing and simpler design systems

Allioo Studio reports streamlined design systems, "starting with buttons," and easier editing of containers and components directly on the canvas, which would make the new Wix Studio editor quicker for nested layouts.

Better handling of Wix Apps and the CMS

Allioo Studio also reports improved ways to bring Wix Apps and the CMS into a site. The reports don't explain how, or whether existing CMS collections and dynamic pages would change.

Plan Mode

LowCodeWebsite describes Plan Mode as "a new starting point for projects that pulls in business details, target audience, brand preferences, and site structure," turning discovery notes into a structured brief. Slaterock goes further and reports that Plan Mode produces a site architecture and wireframes, including mobile breakpoints.

Aria 2.0 and an optional AI assistant

Allioo Studio says the building agent in its preview was Aria, the same agent used in Wix Harmony, and that the AI assistant is optional. It reportedly can start a project, generate a section or page, or make a site mobile-friendly. LowCodeWebsite calls it Aria 2.0 and describes it as working "more like a design partner" than a copywriting helper. Slaterock reports that Aria 2.0 can be trained on an agency's own data.

Reusable AI Skills

LowCodeWebsite and Slaterock both report reusable "AI Skills": saved AI actions you can apply again across projects. LowCodeWebsite frames them as a way for agencies to keep type, spacing, layout and brand rules consistent.

One gap matters to us more than any of the AI features: none of the reports we've read explain how Velo code, custom CSS or the Wix CLI will work in Studio 2. For sites with custom functionality, that's the question to watch on November 10.

Wix Studio 2 vs Wix Harmony

Wix Harmony is a shipping product; Wix Studio 2 is not yet. The reports describe two separate products that share technology.

What's reported: LowCodeWebsite says Studio 2 shares its visual design language and underlying site structure with Wix Harmony, which has led to speculation that Harmony sites could convert to Studio 2 without a full rebuild. Allioo Studio also suggests Harmony sites may move across more easily than current Studio sites. Both are partner opinions, not Wix statements.

Until Wix explains where Studio 2 fits, plan around the editors that exist: Harmony for quick, conversational drafts, Wix Studio for design-heavy, CMS-driven and coded sites.

What Wix Studio 2 means for existing Wix Studio sites

This is where the reports conflict most.

  • LowCodeWebsite reports that existing Studio projects are "expected to carry forward," with migration tools planned, and compares it to the earlier move from Editor X to Wix Studio.
  • Allioo Studio originally expected a migration tool to arrive later, with the current editor running alongside the new one. In its October update, it says a direct move from Studio may not be straightforward because Studio Two appears to use a different foundation, and that migration is "not confirmed."

Wix's own history offers two precedents. When Wix Studio replaced Editor X, new Studio sites came first, and Wix later updated every Editor X site to Studio automatically. The Classic Editor never got that treatment: moving a Classic site to Studio still means a rebuild (here's how that process works). Studio 2 could follow either pattern, or something in between.

Meanwhile, your current site keeps running on Wix Studio, and nothing published so far suggests Wix will switch off today's editor at launch.

Should you wait for Wix Studio 2 before building?

For most businesses, no. There's no release date, migration path or pricing, and a site you need this quarter shouldn't depend on a product that hasn't been announced. Build on today's Wix Studio in a way that's easy to move later. The habits that make a Studio site easy to maintain also make it easy to migrate or rebuild:

  • A real design system. Site colors, text themes and a design library, instead of one-off styling on each element.
  • Content in the CMS. Services, team members, locations and case studies in collections, not typed into static pages. CMS data can be exported to CSV whatever happens to the editor.
  • Reusable sections. A small set of section patterns repeated across pages is far quicker to rebuild than 40 unique layouts.
  • Documented custom code. A list of every Velo file, custom CSS rule, embed and third-party app, with what each one does.

If your launch date is months away and flexible, watch the November 10 first look before you finalize a build plan.

How to prepare your Wix site for Studio 2

Work through this list now. It's useful whether Studio 2 arrives with a one-click migration, a partial tool or no tool at all.

  1. Export your URL list. Pull every indexed page from Google Search Console and your sitemap. If a move means new URLs, this becomes your redirect map.
  2. Move repeated content into CMS collections and keep a current CSV export of each one.
  3. Clean up your design system. Consolidate colors and text styles, remove unused ones, and save on-brand sections to a design library.
  4. Review breakpoints. Stick to the three defaults where you can, and only keep custom breakpoints the layout actually needs.
  5. Inventory custom code and apps. List Velo files, custom CSS, embeds and installed apps, and remove what's no longer used.
  6. Record your SEO settings. Page titles, meta descriptions, structured data, existing redirects and social images.
  7. Wait for Wix's official documentation before planning a migration. Partner previews are helpful, but Wix's help center is what counts.

FAQ

When is Wix Studio 2 released?

Wix hasn't announced a release date. According to Wix Partner Allioo Studio, Wix has scheduled a first look for November 10, 2026, at 12 pm EST, and a same-day release is possible but unconfirmed. Earlier estimates of late summer 2026 didn't hold, so wait for Wix's own announcement.

Will my Wix Studio site move to Studio 2 automatically?

Nobody outside Wix knows yet. One partner blog reports existing Studio sites are expected to carry forward with migration tools, while another now doubts a direct path because Studio Two appears to use a different foundation. Your current site keeps working on today's Wix Studio in the meantime.

Is Wix Studio 2 the same as Wix Harmony?

No. Wix Harmony is Wix's AI website builder, launched in January 2026 and driven by the Aria agent. Partners report that Studio 2 uses Aria too and shares design language and site structure with Harmony, but Wix hasn't confirmed how the two products relate.

Should I wait for Wix Studio 2 to build my site?

Usually not. There's no release date, pricing or migration path yet, and new editors tend to launch for new sites first. Build on today's Wix Studio with a design system, CMS collections and reusable sections, so a future move is quicker.

Will Wix Studio 2 cost more than Wix Studio?

Pricing hasn't been announced or reported. Allioo Studio speculates that the Aria agent may cost extra, but that's an opinion, not a Wix statement. Check Wix's pricing page once the product is officially released.
